Climbing to the highest point in Africa and witnessing the splendorous view of the murky clouds engulfing the gleaming glaciers is a revolutionizing moment. Lake Manyara presents glorious sceneries and various distinctive habitats. Dubbed Africa’s very own Garden of Eden, the Ngorongoro Crater hosts an abundant amount of wildlife in the lush caldera. The infamous migration of the wildebeest is documented globally and the vast plains of the golden savannah serve as inspiration for artists. The Kilimanjaro Safari trip explores the finest sceneries in Africa and sculpts the most memorable experiences.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: ARRIVAL

Meet with your driver/guide, welcomed and drive to your place of stay for overnigh

Day 2: MACHAME GATE(1800m)-MACHAME CAMP(3000m)

In the morning 08.00am you will meet with your guide, briefying about your day and then drive to Machame gate here you will meet with your porters, cook and the crew that will take care of your Kilimanjaro climb. After registration you then you start trekking through rain forest for approximately 4 to 5hrs when you arrive at the Machame camp. Later afternoon you walk up a little higher altitude for acclimitization and then come back to camp for dinner and overnight

Day 3: MACHAME CAMP(3000m)-SHIRA CAMP(3800m)

After breakfast, start climb through short savannah, forest and other vegetation for approximately 4 to 5 hrs with picnic lunch enroute before arriving in the afternoon at the Shira camp.

Walking Duration: 4-6hrs, 5km

Day 4: SHIRA CAMP(3800m)-LAVA TOWER(4630m)-BARRANCO CAMP(3950m)

After breakfast a slow walk through semi glacier and sandy areas with picnic lunch 3 to 4 hours before arriving at Barranco camp for dinner and overnight

Day 5: BARRANCO CAMP(3950m) – KARANGA VALLEY CAMP(3995m)

A day of acclimitization with walk to Karanga Valley camp

Walking duration: 4-5hrs, 5km

Day 6: KARANGA VALLEY CAMP(3995m) – BARAFU CAMP(4673m)

After breakfast, with picnic lunch enroute climb through glaciers for approximately 4 to 5 hrs before arriving at the Barafu camp for dinner and overnight.

Walking duration: 4-5hrs, 4km

Day 7: BARAFU CAMP(4673m) – UHURU PEAK(5895m) – MWEKA CAMP (3068m)

An early wake up call around 01.00hrs for preparation and light breakfast before starting final ascent to the summit i.e either Stella point reached in approximately 5 to 6 hrs and a further ascent to the Uhuru peak reached in another 45minutes. After signing and short rest at Barafu hut descent via the Gilman’s point down to Mweka hut for relaxation, lunch and overnight

Walking duration: 11-14hrs, 17km

Day 8: Mweka Camp(3068m) – Mweka Gate(1640m)

Descend from Mweka camp to Mweka gate where you will be transferred back to your hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight.

Walking Duration: 3-4hrs, 10km

Day 9: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast depart to Lake Manyara National Park famous for its green scenery, varied bird life, tree-climbing lions, hippos and baboons. Dinner and overnight will take place on top of the Great Rift Valley, overlooking Lake Manyara.

Day 10: Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro Crater

After early breakfast at the lodge, descend into the crater, which is shaped like a massive bowl in green, brown, blue and even purple hues. After breakfast you’ll make your way through the early morning mists and descend 600m into the crater itself, one of the world’s seven natural wonders. From forest and swamps to lakes, springs, open grassland and even sandy dunes, the Ngorongoro Crater has many diverse habitats where thousands of animals make their home. Later afternoon drive back to Arusha.

Day 11: Kilimanjaro Airport to Zanzibar

Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for 1hr flight to Zanzibar, where you will unwind for 3 days. Highlights include exploring the Arabic architecture, tropical fruits & spices, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, snorkelling and last but not least the white palm fringed beaches and the azure waters of the Indian ocean.

Day 12: Zanzibar Island

After breakfast,  visit the Spice Plantations at Kidichi for the famous Spice Tour. We have developed a special Spice Tour with in depth information not only about spices, but also organically grown herbs and a detailed description about their traditional uses in medicine cosmetics and cooking. After the tour we invite for an opulent lunch at the ‘Spice Restaurant’, where you can taste the spices and fruits.

In the afternoon we will show you Stone Town on our Historical Stone Town Tour.

Day 13: Explore Stone town

This tour takes you through fabled Stone Town, where history appears to stand still. With visits to the House of Wonders, the Palace Museum (People’s Palace) and the Arab Fort amongst others, it is a fascinating look at the essence of Zanzibar. You will see Zanzibar’s bustling market, winding alleyways, ornately carved and studded doors, two cathedrals and countless mosques!

Transfer back to your beach hotel.

Day 14: Depart

Return to Arusha or Dar es Salaam for connecting flight home
