The Mount Meru Climb, Ngorongoro and Serengeti Safari 10 Days is a combination of Mountain trekking and wildlife tour takes you to visit and explore 4 of the Northern Tanzania game parks, that is Mount Meru National Park, Tarangire National Park, Serengeti Park and Ngorongoro Crater. All the parks are home to small and large animals including birds and reptiles. Mount Meru is Tanzania’s second highest peak 4566m. The Climbing takes you up and down through the same route with spectacular diversified view of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro highlands, Amboseli in Kenya and the whole of Arusha town. You stay in huts on the climb. Accommodation on safari can be at mid-range lodges/camps or basic camping site as per your choice.

Detailed Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive into Tanzania

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by your staff and transferred about half hour drive in your private Vehicle to Arusha for overnight at Arusha Crown Hotel booked on half board basis. HB

Day 2; Arusha – Miriakamba Hut

Arusha – Miriakamba Hut

-In the morning at 0830hrs pick up from Hotel in Arusha and transfer 30km to Momela gate, the starting point of the climbs. At the gate, meet with your mountain CREW and after all regulations have been followed, start ascending the mountain with packed lunch to Miriakamba hut for dinner and overnight. FB

Day 3: Miriakamba – Sadle hut

-Breakfast at Sadle then proceed with your trekking up with lunch enroute, this is a wonderful climb, you will also be doing game viewing enroute on both ascending and descending the mountain, an armed ranger guide will be the main guide on your climbing. Dinner and overnight in Sadle hut. FB

Day 4: Sadle – Summit – Miriakamba Hut

Morning call in the midnight with a cup of tea for your final ascend to the summit 4566m, the second highest mountain in Tanzania. Your guide will advice time to spend on the peak and time to start descending according to the present weather, then back to Sadle for lunch, there after lunch proceed with your climbing down for dinner and overnight Miriakamba hut. Day 5: Miriakamba – Momela Gate- Arusha

After breakfast, walk for your final descend with lunch on the way to Momela gate where all who have made it will be rewarded certificates. Your crew will be waiting for their tips before you get in the private vehicle for dinner and overnight Arusha.

Day 6: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

In the morning at 0830hrs pick up from your hotel in Arusha and drive on tarmac road 120km to Tarangire National Park for game drives. Lunch picnic there after lunch continue with afternoon game viewing in the park to look for Lion, Leopard, Elephant, buffalo, Python, Zebra, Oryx, Impala and more… Over 450 species of birds have been observed. Lunch picnic and there after proceed with afternoon game viewing before the drive takes you for dinner and overnight at lodge/camping. FB

Day 7: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart at 0700 hrs for Serengeti National Park crossing Ngorongoro Conservation, passing via Olduvai Gorge. Olduvai Gorge is the prehistoric site where Dr. Louis Leakey discovered the remains of Homo-habilis (“Handy man”) regarded as mankind’s first step on the path of human evolution. You arrive in time for lunch at 1200 hrs at your lodge.1500 hrs- you go for an evening game drive in the park. The Serengeti is probably the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world. Within its 15,000 sq km area it hosts 3 million large mammals. More than 35 species of plain animals- zebra, wildebeest, eland, giraffe, and others are found here. And so for the big five: elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and rhino. The park is the staging zone for one the most spectacular events in the natural world- the annual migration of wildebeest. This commences around June when over 1 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle head for the Maasai Mara in Kenya in search of pasture. They are followed closely by the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures. The Serengeti also has over 500 species of birds. Dinner and overnight at lodge/camping. FB

Day 8: Full day Game drives in Serengeti

You dedicate this day to Serengeti and take a morning and an afternoon game drive.

Meals and overnight in Serengeti at lodge/camping.

Day 9: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater Tour

Walk up early morning for breakfast, then at 0700hrs depart for Ngorongoro Crater with picnic lunches and descend into the Crater floor for game drives. All the BIG FIVE Rhino Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Elephant live in this wonderful caldera, others are Zebra, Hippo, Wildebeest, Hyena and more…Birds includes flamingos on the Soda lake, Geese, Storks, Vultures and more…Your lunch will be served in the picnic site in the Crater at Ngoitoktok swamp, a Hippo pool. After lunch, proceed with afternoon game viewing. At 1530hrs ascend the Crater and drive to the Crater Rim for dinner and overnight at lodge/camping.

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater tour – Arusha

At 0900hrs after breakfast, leave Ngorongoro and drive back to Arusha for a drop off
